Happy to Help
To help improve the health of those currently experiencing homelessness and for the less fortunate in our community.
Sunny Street is a Doctor and nursing mobile outreach unit providing primary healthcare and complex coordination services for homeless and vulnerable individuals and families.
Our mission is to facilitate community connectivity and improve access to health care options.
The service is both owned and operationally managed locally by the Medical Director, Dr Nova Evans, and the Nursing Director, Sonia Goodwin.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Mobile Medical Outreach Service
This can be one of the most trying and confronting times for someone in this situation.
We want to help give them a glimmer of hope. We want them to know we care. We want to educate them on how we can help.
We want to be positive about their future.
Volunteer – We are always seeking enthusiastic people including nurses and doctors to join our team and help vulnerable people and really make a difference to the community.
We’ve made the news
We recently had a fantastic article written up from Australia’s largest women’s online media group Mamamia. Check it out.
WINDO interviews Sunny Street's Founders
Twelve months ago Dr Nova Evans and Sonia Goodwin came to a WINDO International Women's Week Festival event that inspired them to finally take the plunge, leaving their jobs to start Sunny Street, a pioneering service providing mobile healthcare and better options for the homeless and vulnerable in south-east Queensland.
